Franklin math circle

Professor Nathan Gibson organized a series of weekly Math Circle meetings for elementary school students from January through June 2023.

Franklin students grades 3-5 were invited to participate in an after school math circle. A math circle is a meeting where participants do math. Typically this consists of group work on interesting problems that complements, but does not overlap with, traditional curricula. Examples include explorations in combinatorics (counting), probability, geometry, logic and modeling. It is closer to a math club than a math class.

Math circles are for kids who like math, and kids who want to like math. Math circles aim to make math fun, interesting, accessible and inclusive. Math circles are not competitive.
