Department Head

We invite applications for an academic leader and scholar to serve as Department Head of Mathematics. Our new head will be an integral part of the College Leadership Team, working closely with the dean, associate deans, other department heads, mathematics staff, faculty and students to advance the mission of the Department of Mathematics and the College of Science. The ideal candidate will provide strategic vision for the department, remain active in teaching and research, and will advocate and advance equity and inclusive excellence within all aspects of their work.

Administrative Program Specialist - This recruitment will be used to fill one full-time Administrative Program Specialist position for the Department of Mathematics in the College of Science at Oregon State University (OSU).This position is responsible for working with faculty and the Mathematics Graduate Director to determine and manage the direction of the Mathematics graduate program.


Jobs for undergraduate students

The Math Department is looking to hire undergraduate students for a paid position as a Math Learning Assistant (LA). We are hiring for classes that include, but are not limited to MTH 103, MTH 111, MTH 112, MTH 251, and MTH 252. To apply, begin by creating a learning assistant account.

We anticipate the availability of 12 to 18 graduate teaching assistantships for graduate students entering the Mathematics graduate program annually. Please see the graduate page for more about our graduate program.
