Congratulation to Oliver Flood, Nicholas Slugg, Carsten Yeung, and Nicholas Zitzelberger, OSU's top four scorers on the Putnam Mathematics Competition in 2023.

Putnam is a notoriously challenging math exam held on the first Saturday of December. This year's median score was 10 out of 120.

We are thrilled that OSU placed 1st in Oregon and 3rd in the MAA Pacific Northwest Section behind the University of Washington and Simon Fraser University.

We are also pleased to announce that our top four participants all scored higher than the median. Our top performers were Nicholas Zitzelberger and Carsten Yeung, whose scores of 23 and 21 placed them in the top 650 and 800, respectively.
